2014-05-31_1901US sitcom The Goldbergs which began a month ago on Seven now appears to be out of schedule.

Next Wednesday night Seven is screening the movie The Iron Lady, starring Meryl Streep, at 8:30pm.

It isn’t clear what’s on a week later, July 16, but Seven has also hinted at a return for Criminal Minds.

Whether The Goldbergs is rescheduled is not clear.

  1. It is school holidays in some capital cities this week and next week and others the week after. With Ch 7 airing the final 3 episodes of Park and Recreation season 5 starting from tonight (late) The Goldbergs might take the Monday night late spot in three weeks after school holidays around the country.

  2. @ Southpatt – they’re actually on Eleven but agree that given they were cancelled they would have been a cheap investment in offering premiere programming. Nevertheless it’s rediculous that those that are cancelled get an uninterrupted run but those that are renewed seem to be bumped and dropped.

  3. As usual – If a show doesn’t get runs on the board straight away – it gets “resheduled”

The Goldbergs strike a note with me – not only because I grew up through this period – but the writing and characters are seriously good.

    Curiously enough @josh777

The Goldbergs got a renewal for next season.
Dads, Enlisted and the Goodwin games were all cancelled – Seven prob got these Cheap 🙂

  4. US sitcoms worked well, even when they weren’t that funny, when they were on in the 7:30-8:30pm PG slots while people were waiting for dramas to start at 8:30pm. Now many episodes are M rated and contest shows have those slots.

There haven’t been many good US sitcoms in recent years and they won’t rate at 9pm or later.

Seven are pretty good with showing all of shows. The finished 30 Rock, HIMYM, Happy Endings etc. eventually. The Goldberg’s isn’t great but wasn’t the worst of this seasons sitcoms, it will be on sometime.

  5. Nate. At least with Sam and Kochi they are on during the morning which most people are at work and if you don’t like them then you don’t watch them I would rather watch them any day than 18 or 19 repeats weekly of The Big Bang Theory.

  6. In regards to The Millers, a Network Ten spokesperson says “We look forward to bringing the show back to viewers and although the schedule is still to be advised, TEN aims to play out The Millers this year.”

  7. Then you wonder why we go elsewhere to watch the shows,The networks are only interested in all the TBL,MKR,AGT,The Voice&so on.Shows not starting on time. The only shows that start on time are one guess,NRL.

  8. @ Nate

Totally agree, but you must give 7 full marks for trying, after all you can’t find anything more trying than 3 hours of Sam and Kochie 5 days a week.

  9. I’ve said it all along, comedies do not work in prime time on 7. besides HIMYM all other comedies air in late night slots, but since this is a family show they should have at least aired it on Sunday nights in an earlier slot. Wednesdays at 8:30-ish was such a odd place to put it. at least put it at 7:30 instead somewhere during the week, or give it to 7two.

It was my favorite new comedy, Millers is ok but new eps have gone too on 10.

  10. Hmm saw this in the guides myself. One of the only comedies I watch, not all eps are funny but its still heartwarming in its own unique way.

Hope we see it again soon.

  11. This simply isn’t because of State of Origin game 3? For game 2 they did move it to Thursday.
Care to elaborate on these hints that Criminal Minds is returning.

  12. Being a family themed show, it probably didnt belong in such a late timeslot. The erratic starting times each week haven’t helped either.

  13. I’m surprised it lasted this long, because not only was this stupid family comedy an insult to ones intelligence, network seven promo’ed it with one of the most annoying promos I have ever ‘heard’, especially when one would assume the promos are intended to attract viewers, using some of the best segments??

  14. This sucks as it is one of the few sitcoms that actually air in Australia that I really like. The only ones that seem to continue to air weekly are Dads, Enlisted and Ths Goodwin Games (Eleven). Shows I like which are MIA include The Millers (TEN), Men At Work (Seven), Mom (Nine), and Sullivan & Son (Nine).
