Survey says desperate? TEN roadblocks Family Feud across 3 channels.
TEN spams Grant Denyer across 3 channels at the same time. Family Feud is coming to get you.

Family Feud is coming to get you, whether you like it or not.
If the incessant promos and watermarks haven’t been been enough, now TEN announces the show will be rolled across its three channels at the same time.
Family Feud will screen at 6pm on TEN, ELEVEN and ONE all week.
They’re not even offering to do that for the Commonwealth Games, requiring viewers to switch from one channel to another to follow a single broadcast.
“By running Family Feud across our three television channels at the same time for one week, we are making sure that as many Australians as possible have the opportunity to see it,” said Programming Chief Beverley McGarvey.
Because it is ‘simulcast’ the move means the ratings can be merged across three channels too.
But it doesn’t end there.
The show will also be repeated at 8am weekdays from tomorrow, leading into Studio 10, while Grant Denyer is a guest on The Project tonight.
TEN had better hope the move does not backfire.
Promotion is one thing, but overkill is big bloody risk.

Wow, TEN are in for a rude surprise tomorrow morning when ratings figures are released.
A very strange decision made from Network Ten with the show putting to all three channels.
Grant Denyer has had his day, whilst on Seven people switched off because of his boring personality.
TEN you’ve done it again……
Good idea to test Family Feud on Eleven – it’s probable future home.
Ten trying to boost its ratings for this week, I see? I don’t blame them in doing this, but across 3 channels? I think its an odd decision.
I think it will rate 600-700k which Ten would be pleased with, anymore would be deemed a hit. However, I am seething that 90210 has been taken off for 2 weeks!
I really think 10 have made a mistake. Steve Harvey is the reason the U.S version has increased 40% in the ratings. He’s a funny improvisor and comic. You only need to look at the memes the show has generated. Then you see Grant mugging for the camera for way too long when someone suggests he’s short on the ads and it’s cringe city.
I guess they got to try something different… I will be watching Eggheads tonight.
Absolutely ridiculous. What a complete waste of bandwidth. I had to check my calendar to see if it was April already.
There is no way that this stupidity will last the full week. People don’t like feeling coerced into watching something. Does nobody at Ten remember what happened when they shoe-horned The Renovators into the Master Chef final? There will be tears.
Unless there are some Australians who don’t have access to the primary channel but do have access to the digitals, that’s some pretty blatant misuse of the word ‘opportunity’ right there.
@tenten – i swear your comment wasn’t there when i composed mine. Great minds think alike! 🙂
Well, i wasn’t enthusiastic about it, but will give it a go, but i don’t mind Grant, and i too have fond memories of the show from my youth, and I’m a bit over the dreary and morbid news services, so some light relief might be the ticket. I don’t blame 10 for throwing everything at it; gotta back your initiatives or it looks half hearted. Damned if they do and don’t….
If only TEN could afford to buy 30 minute blocks on 9, Gem, Go, 7, 72 and 7mate they could run Family Feud at 6pm on those channels as well…
but they’d probably still come last.
Not sure if this will be a great success for 10, Grant said he was not a game show host when he was doing Million Dollar Minute, know this is a different format but at the end of the day it is still a game show, lets hope he doesn’t have any more problems and needs more re-hab, not sure if 10 would give him as many chances for come backs as 7 seem to give him, he is a new kid on the block at the moment with 10, even if he was with them before.
Wow. So much criticism. Judging by the reactions here, they are damned if they do and damned if they don’t!
Used to like Family Feud all those years ago but the choice of Grant as host is completely wrong .
I fear it will be excrutiating.
I used to watch family Feud in the old days, was hoping it may return again someday.
But definitely won’t be watching it with Grant Denyer!!
Awesome news, now we can watch Grant Denyer in HD. I will check it out and give it chance as I don’t mind the odd game show but I’m holding my breath.
I will be amazed if it lasts longer than a few weeks before Channel10 pull the plug.
Not a bad idea bringing it back, but in a 6PM timeslot?
Grant Denyer was all over commercial FM radio this morning too, promoting it
Strangest thing, ever!
Maybe they should have done this for wake up and got better ratings. Overkill to the max.
What? Surely they should also simulcast it on TVSN and Spree TV too. Oh wait, those channels don’t count in ratings, so better not do that.
Might not be a bad move, especially for Eleven. It is a good lead in for the demos that Neighbours at 6:30pm gets.
We surveyed 100 Programming Execs at 10.. oh wait there are no programming execs because if there was they would know that this is a stupid idea.
So this is why Beverly Hills 90210 will be returning in 2 weeks.
Grant was also on Studio 10 this morning.
