X Factor pushes back Amazing Race, Winners & Losers, Criminal Minds.

Extended X Factor means other Seven programming is being pushed back in the schedule.

Luke JacobzExtended X Factor episodes means other Seven programming is being pushed back in the schedule.

Presumably this is all happening while the show’s boot camp and overseas trips lock in their finalists.

Seven is hardly alone in this practice, but it’s important to keep viewers in the loop, and I do worry about the finish time for The Amazing Race: Australia v New Zealand.

Originally scheduled for 8:40pm next Monday will now premiere from 9pm and wrap at 11pm.

7:30pm The X Factor
9pm The Amazing Race Aus v NZ
11pm Brynne: My Bedazzled Diary

Parks & Recreation is now out.

Another 90 minute X Factor airs this Wednesday with Criminal Minds now starting at 9pm.

On Sunday it’s a 105 minute edition meaning Sunday Night moves to an 8:15pm start followed by World’s Most Extreme Water Ways (rivetting stuff?) and double Castle at 10:15pm.

On Tuesday August 5 Winners and Losers will begin at 9pm with Chicago Fire at 10pm.

That is all.

I think.

  1. Geez this is definatley one of the worst Winters of TV in a while so boring – most nights until 9.15 ish is just full of Reality. Its getting boring fast.

No wonder why people are flocking to Ten!

  2. Seven killed The Mole last year, and will do it again with TARA. So disappointing – as others have said, why bother creating such series when you are going to bury them?

  3. Why oh why do networks do this?! I believe it’s to prevent people from switching channels to watch another show and remain with a particular network, right? It’s annoying that most, if not all, prime-time TV shows either don’t start or finish their shows on time or both and I think a lot of people are fed up. No wonder people are deserting watching TV, among a host of other reasons too, I suspect.

  4. 7 has completely stuffed up the timing of X-Factor to start with. Now TAR Australia is on later. This show had great potential and they have already stuffed it up before starting. Shame Shame Shame!!! And why can’t Brynne be on 7TWO for??

  5. I don’t think it can move nights. That’s right it’s near impossible to move nights because TVNZ airs it on Tuesdays and any moving nights need to be sorted out with TVNZ and unlike us they have a pretty set timetable.0

  6. The promo tonight had TARA at 8.45, so Seven sure know how to confuse their viewers. This year they’re shuffling the times before the season even starts.

  7. As other posters have commented, you wonder why 7 invests in a program like TARA and then practically sabotages its success before it even starts.

David – do you have a shortcut programmed onto your keyboard ready for “Parks & Recreation is now out”?

  8. You might like to highlight the fact 7’s repeating last Wednesday nights Criminal Minds (both eps) this Wednesday afternoon from 12 noon.

I guess that’s because the show started 45-50 mins last week, thanks to some reality programme going w-a-a-a-a-y overtime.

  9. I recall reading somewhere that TARAU was also being screened in New Zealand? That’s got to be putting a cramp on Seven’s ability to delay the airing, lest we get major spoilerage.

Might explain the double episode. Or it could just be Seven reminding us it only likes TAR a little bit…

  10. Agree with @ryaneco.
TARA is not suited to a long drawn out format.
+1 for Wednesday or Thursday night at 7.30 –
Monday nights are already crowded enough.

So disrespectful of 7 to their viewers treat this show so poorly before it’s even begun.
Like some others here, I have nil interest in the X Factor and resent everything else being pushed out to cater to it.

  11. So frustrated with Seven right now. They’re going to kill TARAu before it even starts. 8.45 was just about acceptable, but now with X Factor finishing anywhere between 9 and 9.15, I’m not bothering anymore.. Good one Seven.

  12. Seven have TARA all wrong.
It is meant to be a a short, sharp reality series. 1 hour once a week. Not 1 hour 15 minutes, no double episodes, no running late.

    It’s a family show 7.30 on a Wednesday/Thursday would be perfect.

Seven are struggling big time on Thursdays and they play nothing – I’d air TARA 7.30 Thursdays and give us all something decent to watch.

  13. Ch 7 need to know that tv is not all about their show X-Factor, I think this will put off alot of viewers off the show and ratings will even drop more, I’m so over the hype of this show it’s really getting boring.

  14. Parks and Rec out again. Sigh, we’re never going to finish this season are we Seven?

Castle again wasted too late for some extreme special that few watched last night. Again, sigh.

  15. @tomothyd I think twill find it is one long dragged out episode.
This is why I hate reality shows. They are such poorly edited shows, they are responsible for disrupting 1000 of hours of TV viewing over an entire year!
I agree that TAR-OZ needs a better start time!and better treatment. I don’t know by 7 bother wasting money when they treat shows like this!

  16. 9-11pm, they want this to be DOA don’t they.

What’s wrong with nothing on Seven Thursdays? It seems like they think TARA desperately needs the lead-in.

  17. And so it begins.
I’ll just PVR TARA now thanks Seven. I’m not wasting anywhere from 15 minutes to 45 minutes of my time waiting for some crappy singing contest to end.

  18. Not happy with TARAu getting a late start and a double episode. This should be on at 7.30pm for 1 hr on Tuesdays or Wednesdays.
I certainly hope it is two episodes with two eliminations, and not a dragged out episode one.
Either way, I will PVR it, I’m not staying up to 11pm, which we all know will be 11.12pm to watch it full of commericals.
Well done in stuffing this up Seven, and it hasn’t even started.
