I haven’t seen a preview of Reality Check but ABC has now advised the guests and format for the first show.
Appearing are Julie Goodwin, Marion Farrelly former Director of Content for FremantleMedia Marion Farrelly and TVNZ Commissioning Editor Andrew Shaw. All very brave!
Panellists for episode one are:
· Julie Goodwin – Masterchef winner of series 1
· Marion Farrelly – Executive Producer of Big Brother, Farmer Wants A Wife, and The Recruit
· Andrew Shaw – TVNZ Commissioning Editor of everything from New Zealand’s Got Talent to Changing Rooms.
During episode one, Tom and the panel will:
· Round up some of the moments from the past week in Reality TV during This Week In Reality.
· Discuss issues such as pre-recorded finales, techniques used to ‘spice’ things up, when does a ‘journey’ begin, what happens when things go wrong, and the importance of a back story.
· Play Real or Fake
Ending the show on a high note, Tom showcases The Final Three – a countdown of Reality Gold.
9pm Wednesday ABC.

Yes, it’s Gruen meets The Soup. Ballard is a charmer and the panel strong. ABC Comedy Night is back in business. What a great lead in show (Utopia).
Good for a first show altho’ there was more than a hint of Gruen about it (not a bad thing). Tom acquitted himself pretty well. Hope Shaw’s on again – he was great.
