“Amazing Johnathan” reveals he is dying, admits to performing on cocaine.

US comedy-illusionist “The Amazing Johnathan,” who made regular appearances on Hey Hey it’s Saturday, has revealed he has months to live after being diagnosed with cardiomyopathy.

A performer for 35 years, Johnathan Szeles was first diagnosed with the heart condition in 2007 and retired from performing in May.

But according to NineMSN he also ‘lifted the lid on the source of his often outlandish appearances on shows such as Hey, Hey’ as being high on cocaine.

“My whole show was written entirely on coke,” he said. “I’d pretend to snort ‘fake’ coke on stage – but it was real. I actually even freebased backstage.

“I came up with this whole bit where I would have an audience member come up stage and I didn’t have to be there.”

But he also he never missed a show due to his drug use, adding, “I was very professional about that.”

Szeles also appeared on Tonight Live with Steve Vizard and the 2009 Hey Hey reunion.
