Axed: White Collar to end with Season 6

2014-03-23_0202US drama White Collar starring Matt Bomer is set to end with its sixth season.

The series was renewed in March but it was unclear if it would be the final instalment.

USA Network has now confirmed its final run will air in the US in November, at just 6 episodes long.

Joining Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay are Ross McCall, Gavin Lee, Bridget Regan, Toby Leonard Moore, Paloma Guzman, Michael Potts, Isaach de Bankole and Diahann Carroll.

“From its inception, White Collar captured a massive and loyal following, in large part due to the incredible on-screen chemistry between Matt and Tim, who deserve credit for one of the most brilliantly performed ‘bromances’ in all of television,” says USA Network president Chris McCumber.

“The series also benefited from smart writing and an extraordinarily talented supporting cast, who helped it become a fan favorite crime drama for five straight years. This season will not disappoint, with an exciting and shocking ending that fans will never forget.”

Creator Jeff Eastin adds, “Saying goodbye to White Collar -and Neal and Peter- after six successful seasons is incredibly difficult, but I couldn’t be prouder of what our entire team has accomplished over the last six years.

“I’m grateful to FTVS and USA for giving the show a great home, and I can’t wait for fans to see the twists, surprises and phenomenal performances our final season has in store for them.”

White Collar airs in Australia on ONE.

  1. I adore Matt Bomer, and I am amazed the series made it to 6 Seasons … it is a bit “same, same” and the highlight for me was always the appearance of Diahann Carroll who I have adored since her series “Julia” many decades ago and also Dynasty!

  2. A top show but again I believe that it has come time to end it, if the character of Sarah could come back in, it may been able to stretch another season, but I am happy that it will conclude with the endings fairly well tied up.

  3. Another show where it is definitely time to wind it up. It has probably gone on a little longer than it should. But I do love the bromance between Neal and Burke, and the antics of Mozzie, I think he’s often forgot about when people think of this show. The one thing about this show that I have really enjoyed it that it is actually filmed in New York, and the city is just as much a part of the show as the characters themselves. It’s been cool to watch scenes filmed in buildings, parks and a streets where I’ve once been to, and each week it reminds me of how much I want to visit NY again. I too hope that Neal is set free in the finale. I don’t want another terrible ending like “How I Met Your Dead Mother, But Do You Mind if I Now Date Aunt Robin”

So it looks like Agent Burke won’t be going to Washington after all. He just accepted a job there in the latest episode. A bit worried about this ‘shocking’ ending. I hope it’s not Neal going back to prison. I would like him to finally get to take off his ankle bracelet permanently.
