The Living Room reaches 100 episodes

TEN's quiet achiever, originally pitched as a different take on Lifestyle, reaches a milestone this Friday.

2014-09-03_1220Good to see The Living Room reach its 100th episode this week, a quiet achiever for TEN, and one that the network has stuck with despite some early low numbers.

The WTFN show was originally commissioned under former Programmer David Mott as a way of showcasing lifestyle in a different format, against the might of Seven’s Better Homes and Gardens.

The rapport between Amanda Keller, Chris Brown, Miguel Maestro and Barry DuBois has been paying off, especially in the Demos.

There are two reasons to celebrate this week’s episode of The LivingRoom: it’s the mother of all Father’s Day specials, plus Amanda, Chris, Barry and Miguel celebrate their 100th show. It will be a night filled with games, giveaways and surprise guest appearances. Laugh along with the team as they present all your favourite segments and look back on the best of The Living Room’s 100 episodes.

Barry has been called in to help a young family renovate their bathroom after their own makeover efforts failed to address privacy concerns.

The task is probably one of the most difficult Barry has faced. The site is a complete disaster incorporating the worst bathroom Barry has ever seen.

The popular PET-TA-TA’s segment returns where Dr Chris Brown answers those embarrassing questions pet owners are often too afraid to ask … including why some pets eat poop. Chris launches the search for Australia’s Smartest Pooch. We are chasing the nation’s top dog.

7:30pm Friday on TEN.

  1. Congrats to The Living Room.
Great little show – bright, funny and uplifting.
The mix of Chris, Amanda,Barry and Michel works so well and they clearly have great chemistry together.
Yes, Amanda is such a great host – have always been a fan.

  2. I like The Living Room and glad to see them reach 100 episodes. @Strayamayte I had no idea BH&G moved to 72 at 7.30. I just assumed it was a 30 minute show in winter thus have not tuned in. No wonder TLR numbers are up! Keep it up 🙂

  3. I really enjoy watching The Living Room it’s a great team Amanda Keller is a great host also, so much better than BH&G good on Ten for staying with this.

  4. Good that The Living Room still holding on 🙂 and what a good achievement for 10.

I have to say I find myself watching The Living Room more than BHG these days. I think it’s just easier to watch one show that stays on the same channel, than to have to flick over half way through like you have to do with BHG. I think 7 have done themselves a disservice during the AFL season doing that – why can’t they just air the whole show on 7TWO?

And I think the BHG team is getting a bit tired now – many of them have been on there for roughly 10 years or more. They could do a bit of a refresh with the team.
