  1. For the soccer fans it is hoped that the commentators know that it’s TV not radio, which those non-stop-talkers calling the cricket don’t seem to understand and treat the knowledge of the cricket viewer with no respect

    1. Nine will also show the second Ashes cricket test from Lord’s London from July 16 to 20, which overlaps with the first three matches. Friday July 21 is set to be a bumper night with three sports (NRL, cricket, soccer) on the same network.
It is not surprising to hear Nine will show the International Champions Cup given its parent company Nine Entertainment Company brought the tournament to our shores. But to get the two Liverpool matches is a bonus. Liverpool has a huge fanbase in Australia and last year’s friendly against Melbourne Victory at the MCG rated very well on 7mate. This time however it is up against The Ashes and the NRL so audience figures may be lower.

      1. @Johnson & David Knox – Nine will cover 3 sports at the same time (NRL, Ashes, Soccer). I would think that the NEC should put it this way – Nine will screen Association Football, GEM to telecast The Ashes and GO! to telecast the NRL Matches live. WA, VIC, TAS and SA normally has NRL on GEM so this could be a better idea to put the NRL Matches on GO! (the one that they did last year for AFL-based states).

  2. Glad I haven’t disabled the ‘9’ button on the remote yet. With any luck the matches will finish in time to catch most of the Tour de France stages that are on the same nights.
