Two US titles have been renewed today in separate announcements: Banshee and The Librarians, both of which screen in Australia on Pay TV.
Cinemax has renewed Banshee, starring Antony Starr, for a fourth season.
Unlike previous seasons, the season will only consist of eight episodes, two less than previous seasons.
Set to return in 2016, other cast will be confirmed at a later date.
Banshee screens in Australia on FOX8.
Meanwhile TNT has renewed its series of The Librarians for a second season.
The series finished 2014 as US cable’s No. 2 new series, behind The Last Ship.
A spin-off from the telemovie of the same name, it features Rebecca Romijn, Christian Kane, Lindy Booth, John Kim, John Larroquette and Noah Wyle reprising his role.
It will return later this year and airs in Australia on Universal Channel.

Yes. I absolutely love both shows, especially The Librarians. Can’t wait to see what they get up to next season.
Yes. ‘Banshee’ is the one of the best check-your-brain-at-the-door pulp series I have seen in a long time.
Great to hear The Librarians will be back for more action!
Awesome news about Banshee!!!!
So glad to hear The Librarians has been renewed. After the season final aired two weeks ago I started scouring the internet for any news on a renewal and was afraid when I couldn’t find anything given TNT usually decide on a renewal/cancellation before a series ends. Should be interesting to see how much Wyle appears in the next season given it will be after he finishes Falling Skies.
Banshee actually screens on Fox8.
Thanks, corrected!
Banshee for me has been a standout show since it began. Terrific acting, well done plot and visual effects to make you cringe with every episode. Possible correction David, Banshee airs here on FOX8 to my knowledge….
Not enough people know of the show so do yourselves a favour and watch on DVD as Foxtel have edited some scenes in the past heavily.
