Bumped: Jamie’s Food Fight Club

No surprises here, with the British cook replaced by Modern Family repeats.

TEN had no choice but to pull Jamie’s Food Fight Club from its Thursday night slot after this week’s dire numbers.

It will now be replaced by a Modern Family double repeat from next week, at 7:30pm.

Jamie Oliver is now scheduled for 6:30pm Saturday April 4th.

  1. I didn’t mind the show….we just had it on in the background whilst my husband waited in anticipation for Vikings. Jamie made some valid points about how many crops are wasted everyday in the UK because they don’t look perfect.

Interestingly, 7 dropped a million viewers at 9pm with State of Affairs to 349,000 (which is dismal but I’m sure as other TV Tonight bloggers have said 7 won’t care) but Jamie at 262,000 must be bumped – such a shame for 10 – I wish they had more viewers. I don’t watch Modern Family so I guess the TV will be off or we’ll switch to SBS a little earlier and watch one of their cooking shows.

  2. Forgot to add – in the UK this is called ‘Friday Night Feast’, the first 4 part season was ‘Food Fight Club’ but after that they had a name change, why wasn’t it changed here?

Maybe it would work better on Friday Nights?

    1. I wonder if that’s part of the problem? I know that when I first saw the title I thought it was going to be people throwing food at each other.

    2. You raise a good point, throughout the show there are multiple references to Friday nights, which must make for confusion amongst some viewers. Especially as this show bears little relation to the original Food Fight.
I think it’s rather interesting that, for so long, Jamie Oliver was a staple of Ten’s non-rating seasons, but now his shows are expected to pull in viewers.
I’d also question Ten’s promotion of what is essentially a very British show too. Some of the special guests would be unknown here, as would many of the regional food and drinks covered.
