US comedy series, Fresh off the Boat, which premieres on FOX8 this Sunday, has been renewed for a second season.
The series follows a Taiwanese family from Washington, D.C. to Orlando, Florida as they open up a steak restaurant in 1995.
ABC has also renewed country music melodrama Nashville for a fourth season. Season Three returns to SoHo on May 28th.
But the news was not so good for another ethnically-based comedy, Cristela, starring, written and produced by stand-up comic Cristela Alonzo.
Before its season finale, Alonzo penned an emotional “possible goodbye” letter expressing her gratitude that “this show gave opportunities to Latino writers and actors that are hard to come by.”
It debuted in Australia on FOX8 in February.
