New kids titles coming to Netflix

Netflix has picked up four animated shows for kids, most to launch in 2016.

Netflix has picked up four animated shows for kids to launch at the same time in all Netflix territories.

Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Tarzan and Jane is a modern eight-episode remake of the Tarzan and Jane stories, due in the second half of 2016.

Cirque du Soleil Luna Petunia will chronicle the adventures of Luna Petunia, a girl who lives in our world but plays in a dreamland.

Kulipari: An Army of Frogs is based on a trilogy of books created by US football star Trevor Pryce about his fear of frogs.

Meanwhile, Puffin Rock (39×7’) is a preschool toon about a family of puffins who explore their island home’s natural surroundings, with narration from Chris O’Dowd (The IT Crowd). It premieres in September.

Preschool series Elias is now also streaming exclusively in Australia.

The latest additions follow orders for revamped versions of shows including Inspector Gadget and Danger Mouse and the company has also ordered a series based on King Kong.
