Nine’s Backwell appointed Managing Director Programming & Production

Nine has promoted Andrew Backwell from Head of Programming and Production to the newly-established role of Managing Director Programming and Production.

The role expands responsibilities for processes and budgets across network production as Nine streamlines business divisions under Michael Healy as Director of Television.

In a note to staff, CEO David Gyngell said, “Andrew has played a significant role in the growth of the Nine Network and I’m personally grateful for his knowledge and understanding of our business so I believe he is perfectly positioned to take on this expanded Network role.”
