Kevin McCloud is back on ABC later this month, with some of Britain’s most ambitious self-building projects in Grand Designs.
Episode One:
In North Wales, Rob Hodgson and Kay Ralph plan to build an architectural monument high on a cliff top, a sleek glass-fronted house inspired by the villas of California. Their block overlooks a beautiful beach, but to have their jaw-dropping panoramic views will mean taking the biggest gamble of their lives.
Access will be incredibly difficult and expensive and worse still, the crumbling cliff on which they want to build is often exposed to tidal surges and winds of up to 100mph. Erosion specialists predict their stunning new home should survive for between 60 and 120 years, but just as their modernist villa starts to take shape, one of the biggest storms in recent UK history batters the coast.
7:40pm Sunday June 28th ABC.

Excellent! Love this show
I agree, this is one of the best shows on TV. Every episode has new challenges, frustrations and (usually) breathtaking triumph. It inspires ordinary people to achieve great things.
Kevin is personable, funny, articulate and very knowledgable, one of the best!
This is the one that has just aired on Foxtel yes?
It’s taken a bit of research but yes that appears to be the case!
Thank you David! 🙂
Thanks for the heads up David. I’ll be tuning into Kevin.
I love this show! And I love Kevin!
We can’t hear the word “bespoke” enough times 😉
Don’t forget “contemporary” and “sustainable”.
One of the best hosts and shows around.. Excellent news.
