Lachlan Kennedy is joining Georgina Lewis on TEN Eyewitness News in Brisbane, expanding from solo to duo presenters.
He will also join Sport Presenter Jonathan Williams and Weather Presenter Josh Holt in a new-look studio from, Monday, September 7th.
Kennedy has been a TEN reporter since 2010, including at the TEN US Bureau as correspondent, covering stories such as the murder of Australian student Chris Lane in Oklahoma, the Washington Navy Yard shooting, The Masters, the America’s Cup, the 100th Anniversary of the ANZAC landings and Nepal earthquake.
“I’m very excited about this wonderful opportunity to join Georgina and the Brisbane news team. Moving to a vibrant and growing city, where I have lots of family, is definitely a bonus,” he said.
“As a young journo reporting local news in Canberra, I could never have imagined the countries and places I’d work in, the people I’d meet and the stories I’d have the privilege to cover – from the splendour of the White House and bright lights of Hollywood, to the horror of the Nepal quake.”
Georgina Lewis said: “Lachlan is a respected reporter and presenter, with a wealth of national and international experience. I am looking forward to sharing the TEN Eyewitness News First At Five desk with him.”
TEN News Director, John Choueifate, said: “TEN’s news is going from strength to strength and I am delighted Lachlan will be playing a key role in the resurgence. Georgina and Lachlan are both fine journalists and will make for a great team.”

Lachlan has done a stellar job & I would prefer to see him read solo rather than have to endure Georgina Lewis. I am sure she is not amused.
Great news. Lachlan is a real talent. Pleased to see Ten are promoting in their own ranks.
As for reinstating dual presenters after firing presenters a few years ago, Lachlan and Candice Wyatt would be much cheaper than Bill MacDonald and Helen Kapalos.
Does that mean he will no longer cover for Natarsha on the weekend buliteins that come out of Sydney?
Based on what Ten did in Melbourne, it seems that they are doing up 1 set each year and slowly adding resources (i.e 2nd presenter more journo’s) to the Ten News operation (at an affordable level). This approach appears to be more sustainable and better.
This would suggest Adelaide or Perth will be next year.
If you’ve ever wondered how TV networks obtain these ‘quotes’ from their stars look up some old Frontline episodes online. I doubt Georgina Lewis even approved this let alone spoke it. Im sure a female solo anchor would love the chance to share the spotlight with a male!
I once compared quotes from a Nine vs WIN press release where talent said exactly the same phrase with the network substituted across 2 x releases. To think they would prattle off the same sentences for each publicist!
Lachlan also sent out a tweet hinting at more changes.

Why? Georgina Lewis is doing a fantastic job by herself, she doesn’t need any help, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it! Also, what harrypotter1994 said.
So they cut news bulletins down to solo presenter because they had no money and now they are reinstating dual presenters because they have money again.
