Touted as the ‘best dancer’ the show had ever seen, former Nine presenter Emma Freedman last night won the title of Dancing with the Stars 2015.
Freedman scored perfect tens from judges last night, defeating runner-up, Olympian Matthew Mitcham. Former My Kitchen Rules contestant Ash Pollard took third place.
Freedman capped off a sure-footed series in which she frequently finished at the top of the show’s leaderboard, last night dancing to ‘Singing In The Rain’ with her partner Aric.
“It’s just the most incredible experience. Not only has it been wonderful to get to know thee guys, but everyone in that Green Room are sensational human beings and I’ve absolutely loved getting to know you as well,” she said.
There is already talk of her performance having boosted her media prospects, which would be sweet justice after being let go by the Today show.
Monday’s grand final, the first in the show’s history, brought the 15th season to an end a week early, following its lowest-ever ratings. Against The Voice, and with new host Shane Bourne, the show has had its work cut out.
But Seven has reaffirmed its commitment for another season next year.

Well done to Emma. She was brilliant and her freestyle dance was elegant and classy. I know its been on a long time but the past 3 years the dancing has been great and I think it gets better each year. Also if Adam doesn’t come back next year then they should leave the 3 judges there. The show doesn’t need Bruno. A great series.
I have absolutely no idea who she is.
Story indicates a former Today presenter. You can search under her name if you need more.
She does a radio show with Jules Lund fyi
“Former My Kitchen Rules contestant took third place.”
Whoa, that’s cold.
Apologies, missed her name in publishing, now added.
Well done to Emma Freedman for the trophy. She really deserves to win.
I loved her on nine when she did weather and thought what a gorgeous girl. Loved her on this too. She deserved it.
