It was originally designed as a stand-alone series but now director M. Night Shyamalan is contemplating more for Wayward Pines.

“I’m thinking about it. I have to think of the end first in terms of the story, he told Digital Spy.

The FX series, based on books by Blake Crouch, starred Matt Dillon as a dazed Secret Service agent in an isolated town with strange secrets.

“What I don’t like about TV is that it keeps on going – I want to know where things are going, every single frame of it,” he continued.

“I want to feel like Game of Thrones is going to end in a certain way and I’m going to get there. I want that to be the way for all TV shows and especially for one I’m working on.

“It was very scary. I learned a lot. I was learning on the job and made a tonne of mistakes, but really enjoyed the end product.”

Last month FOX’s Dana Walden confirmed, “M. Night Shyamalan and the author of the the book series just started conversations about it, perhaps it would be another miniseries event… if the author can lay in the future book series.”

    1. Quite easy really given the way the show finished up, as the town was wasn’t very different from how it was at the start of the series to the ending, just with other people in charge and those opposing frozen.

Though what I would like to see, is someone like M. Night Shyamalan get together with a few others and create another version of The Twilight Zone, The Outer Limits or Tales From The Darkside. Dark Mirror worked and with the way TV is watched now, having episodic shows like those again would likely appeal to lots of people, especially the younger folk who watch in different ways. When you see Wayward Pines, The Dome and even The Zoo to some extent they could easily fit into a single episode show, could even have doubles if they wanted.
