House of the Dragon finale leaked

“HBO is aggressively monitoring and pulling these copies from the internet."

The season finale of House of the Dragon was leaked online on Friday, two days before the episode airs, believed to have emerged from Europe, the Middle East or Africa.

“We are aware that the tenth episode of House of the Dragon has been posted on illegal torrent sites. It appears to have originated from a distribution partner in the EMEA region,” a statement reads. “HBO is aggressively monitoring and pulling these copies from the internet. We’re disappointed that this unlawful action has disrupted the viewing experience for loyal fans of the show, who will get to see a pristine version of the episode when it premieres Sunday on HBO and HBO Max, where it will stream exclusively in 4K.”

Game of Thrones frequently fell victim to piracy, prompting HBO opted to cease offering advance screeners to the press. This still didn’t prevent the problem with Season 8 episodes appearing on both illegal sites and on legitimate platforms such as DirecTV Now.

  1. The first season has been quite good IMO, but not great. That’s to say it’s consistently been about a 6-to-8/10. I’ve enjoyed it. As somebody who knows the book inside-out, I’m actually really liking where the show’s writers have begun to fill in the blanks. Whether it’s something as simple as giving a character a name or giving us a little more detail on another character, it’s been good. I know they’ve only used the second half of the book for the series,

It took me a little while to get my head around the show’s timeline, but the time-jumps of S1 should be a thing of the past now. By my reckoning the war proper should start in tomorrow night’s ep. They can cover the … 20-odd battles of the “Dance” (and 4 years of the war) in the next 2 seasons. I can’t see them stretching things out to 4 seasons.

  2. I guess HBO is referring to illegal copies, perhaps it could also be interpreted as HBO having a go at Amazon too, that their show is so much more popular than Lord of the Rings its natural that their would be some viewer impatience to see the episode 10 finale of The House of the Dragon. To my mind it wont matter at all for those who have invested in this GoT show, if they can see it in 4K UHD they will be doing the right thing and wait for its proper release.

  3. Is it? It’s not that good. Episode 2 was better than the pilot and kept me hanging around but I gave up on it halfway through episode 3. Critics have turned on both House of The Dragon and Lord Of The Rings now they are finishing, complaining they were very flashy but devoid of any real substance.

    1. Never taken a “critics” word for much, personal taste exceeds the “critics”. Substance, quality, patience and imagination are the go too. Plus dialogue, sets, music, costumes, surrounding, acting and production are what matters to make a show appealing. Flashy nope not really.

    2. In my opinion The House of the Dragon has rightly had a positive ratings response, the screenplay uses the source material written for the show and is developed to counter the criticism of fans who were rightly disappointed by the quick conclusion of the original long running GoT series.
The social media attacks on Amazon’s Lord of the Rings adaption is in part influenced by a campaign being waged on line in the US by self proclaimed anti-woke activists who pretend to be TV show critics, the trolling has not been helpful from both sides in this matter. Having said that, the dialogue and writing for this Lord of the Rings adaption has been atrocious at times and character development is almost non existent, even if copyright considerations are taken into account. The only saving grace is some of the brilliant visuals used, but even those, especially the sets built look less than the multi-millions spent on just one season of this 5 season show. More experienced writers are required.

  4. This show is doing so well I don’t think it’s going to impact on the final episode. HBO have been on YouTube dropping spoilers, explaining sets and production anyway tempting hackers as usual. Anyone invested in the show will probably watch the final episode again anyway. I’ve recorded every episode and watched them a second time and still enjoy it as much as GOT. Unfortunately there are some people who just can’t resist spoiling things for others it’s the world we live in now and probably going to get worse the more technology advances.
