“80’s computer revolution” drama Halt and Catch Fire has been renewed.
AMC has ordered a third season of 10 episodes. Co-creators and writers Christopher Cantwell and Christopher C. Rogers have been promoted to showrunners, replacing Jonathan Lisco.
Season two, currently screening in Australia on Showcase, has shifted focus from building a personal computer to online gaming and the early days of the Internet.
“We love what the creative team and cast have been able to deliver on Halt and Catch Fire and are particularly grateful to the critics and fans who supported the show throughout the second season and have been pulling for its renewal,” says Joel Stillerman, president of original programming and development for AMC and SundanceTV.
“In a world of TV series filled with scary, mythical creatures like zombies and dragons, we’re thrilled to be able to follow these characters to Silicon Valley and finally bring unicorns to television.”

So glad to hear this! I watched both seasons over the last month and it has become my favorite new show, the characters are wonderful and the writing is top notch
enjoying the characters and the originality of this show. Nice change from singing, cooking, dancing, rinse and repeat .
Loving this show and looking forward to continuation of S2 and S3 next year.
My absolute favourite show at the moment. Was getting into computers in the early-mid 80’s and can completely relate to it all! The massive 5 megabyte hard drives and RAM measured in k’s! My first computer had 8k memory built in, expandable to 24k with a 16k expansion module – which was quite large. Can’t wait for more!
[In a Yorkshire accent] You had a hard drive? Looxury!
