The Muppets has lost one of its two showrunners, with Bob Kushell exiting the project.
According to Hollywood Reporter, insiders suggest co-creators Kushell and Bill Prady (The Big Bang Theory) didn’t see eye-to-eye on the creative direction of the show.
The news comes days after The Muppets was picked up for an further three episodes, but amid ratings that haven’t lived up to the hype.
Critics have often found the adult tone has transformed Kermit and Piggy into unlikable characters. The series will wrap its fall stretch before going on a midseason hiatus and returning with six episodes.
Seven has announced the series to premiere soon.

Still think the best part is the real life costars that turn up each week.
I kind of like it, but kind of don’t. It’s still funny, and I think it’s an inevitable progression from Vaudeville Variety Show to Late Night Talk Show, but I really do prefer the old-school cheesy comedy to the relationship drama.
