Nine: first week of summer

Ok this is a schedule that is not pretty.

Ok this is a schedule that is not pretty.

Unless you are into Sport and Factuals, Nine does not have much on offer aside from the Schools Spectacular special.

It’s a bit of a shame that the week after they switch to High Definition on the primary channel there is very little to embrace it, aside from the Cricket.

  1. Unless you are a cricket fan (which I for one am not) this is disappointing. Especially after seeing Seven’s programming for the first week of Summer as it makes me wish it was them who were changing their primary channel to HD as at least something other than cricket would be aired in natural HD (I doubt very much Nine have splurged for the remastered copies of the Lethal Weapon franchise so it will only be an up-conversion). Thankfully I stockpiled a punch of shows this year on my IQ3 and my PVR otherwise this Summer would be unbearable.

  2. Of course anything that airs after the cricket will be at random start times – if you are thinking of watching or recording Lethal Weapon 1,2 or 3 suggest you add an hour to your recording to accommodate the very likely chance that cricket will finish late each night. Better yet – buy the DVDs for around $5 each and watch without ads, watermarks, etc…

  3. This reminds me that I haven’t watched the P!nk live in Australia recording from New Year’s Eve yet. Maybe I’ll record it again and watch in HD. Not much else of interest there.

  4. Looked through Nine Perth TV guide and noticed that Matt & Kim to the Rescue will be on Sunday straight after the news.
Gonna be a very long summer of crappy repeats.
