More ‘Minnesota-nice’ is on the way with US drama Fargo renewed for a third season.
Loosely based on the Joel and Ethan Coen’s 1996 film of the same name, is executive produced by Hawley, the Coens, Warren Littlefield and John Cameron.
“Year two of Fargo is an extraordinary achievement and, given Noah Hawley’s masterful storytelling, we can’t wait to see where the third, all-new version of Fargo takes us,” FX Productions president of programming Eric Schrier, said. “Our thanks to Noah, Warren, Joel and Ethan, John and our partners at MGM Television for making Fargo such a memorable and rewarding journey.”
The most recent episode averaged 2.6 million US viewers. The first season earned 18 Emmy nominations and three wins.
Hawley is also adapting Kurt Vonnegut novel Cat’s Cradle as a limited series and a TV pilot based on Marvel comic Legion.
Fargo is currently airing in Australia on SBS, including with Aussie Angus Sampson.

One of the best dramas on TV!
Almost delves into theatre with ridiculousness, but it’s so well done you just don’t care.
I have to say I think this season is actually better than the first. Every episode has me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next. Special mention must go to Nick Offerman for his performance in the most recent episode.
Fantastic!
Fargo rated 1.15m, 0.3 18-49 in the overnights last Monday. 2.6m would be +7s.
From memory, FX usually reports ratings for their programs in Live+3.
You beauty !
Look forward to seeing the new cast for Season 3.
Great news.the first two seasons have been great with excellent casting in both.
