New US Â financial drama Billions, starring Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti, is now available on Stan.
The series sees Lewis as brilliant hedge fund titan Bobby “Axe” Axelrod and brash U.S. District Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Giamatti) playing a dangerous, winner-take-all game of cat and mouse where the stakes run into ten figures.
Including advance online previews, the show drew 2.99 million views —the best original series debut performance ever for Showtime.
Emmy and Golden Globe winners Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis star in a complex drama about power politics in the world of New York high finance. Shrewd, savvy U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Giamatti) and the brilliant, ambitious hedge fund king Bobby “Axe” Axelrod (Lewis) are on an explosive collision course, with each using all of his considerable smarts, power and influence to outmaneuver the other. The stakes are in the billions in this timely, provocative series.
Nine screened the first episode to viewers last night to promote the series, as it did for Transparent last year.
Two episodes are now available on Stan, which brings us up to date with the US, with new episodes available each Monday.
Update: The show has also just been renewed by Showtime.

Last weekend I noticed what seemed to be episode one and two of Billions on 9. It must have been used as a filler. I don’t see the show listed again.
Promotion only, to tease the new Stan series. They did the same with Transparent.
Thanks David. 🙂
I got to say, I’m pretty impressed with Stan, they have got quite a range of content and lots of exclusives.
I might have to sign up.
