Seal to play Pontius Pilate

He was like the voice of God on The Voice and now he’s getting downright biblical in the next US TV musical.

Seal will play Pontius Pilate in The Passion, a modern day re-telling of the story of Jesus of Nazareth, due to air in the US for Easter.

The Passion originally hails from the Netherlands where it has been produced annually since 2011.

FOX will screen the event Live from New Orleans on Palm Sunday, March 20.

The cast includes Jencarlos Canela (Jesus Christ), Chris Daughtry (Judas), Prince Royce (the disciple Peter), Trisha Yearwood (Mary) and Tyler Perry, who will host / narrate.
