We are already halfway through The X-Files revival (that was quick!), with the upcoming episode the first new one to be written and directed by Glenn Morgan.

Home Again is the episode that die-hard fans have been waiting for, combining all the elements that made The X-Files a cult classic – a horrifying, fly-ridden villain who arrives in a ghostly garbage truck before ripping off the limbs of morally corrupt city officials, a social message, some startling jump scares, and an emotional story for Mulder and Scully.

As Mulder and Scully are sent to investigate a series of murders linked to homeless people in Philadelphia, it becomes increasingly clear that no human could have committed them.

Scully handles a personal tragedy as she goes to the aid of her ailing mother. Delving back into her family life forces her to confront the deep feelings she harbours after putting her son William up for adoption 15 years ago to protect him.

8:30pm Sunday on TEN.

  1. The styling of Scully’s hair is really distracting. It changes colour from scene to scene, also, which is weird given she said in an interview she had to wear a wig, as dying it red and then blonde again for her work in The Fall would cause it to all fall out – and so I keep looking at the hairline, on top of the tortured styling, thinking doesn’t look as if it’s a wig…

  2. All this handing out directors chairs is making it look a bit like a vanity project.

The direction lacks the quality and consistency the show had when it was at its peak. When Carter, Morgan and Morgan and team of writers wrote and Manners directed.

Darin has written some great scripts for one off eps with detail in the plot, unique characters and dialogue. Glenn usually writes with his friend James Wong (who has done more directing). They tend more towards grand ideas.

  3. I am really enjoying the X-Files.

My only problem is Ch 10 keep starting it early and as I am recording it through foxtel I keep missing the start. So very annoying!!! If anyone from Ch 10 is reading this, can you please fix this this week.

    1. It is annoying, I even allowed for three minutes early on my PVR last episode, but the start was still cut out. There is a function on the setup in Foxtell where you can allow for a five minutes early start.
