Last week’s launch of 7flix has had a modest start for Seven, averaging a 1.6% share, equal to ABC News 24.
While some viewers have welcomed the new multichannel, social media has notched up considerable complaints from viewers unable to access it, including regional viewers, Foxtel subscribers and those with MPEG2 compatible TVs.
In its first week the channel proved best on Saturday (2.5%), Friday (2.4%) and Sunday (2.3%) -all nights with more film than TV titles. But it’s early days and Seven will be learning much about positioning the channel.
It added to another winning week for Seven network, a full 5% ahead of Nine -the fourth week in a row.
Best brands this week were:
Seven: My Kitchen Rules (Tues: 1.5m), Seven News (Sun: 1.06m), Sunday Night (937,000) and Downton Abbey (813,000).
