MKR semi-final singes the competition

Ratings: Thursday shows took a bit of a hit last night as MKR sends Tasia & Gracia to its grand final.

A rare Thursday outing for My Kitchen Rules meant rival shows took a bit of a hit last night.

Seven’s show drew 1.36m as Melbourne sisters Tasia & Gracia proceed through to Tuesday night’s Grand Final. It was double (or more) everything else in the timeslot.

The Project enjoyed 561,000 at 7pm for its interview with Ali Elamine before Modern Family plunged against MKR. Gogglebox was also down on last week.

ACA was up on last Thursday but The Footy Show slipped again. Most ABC shows were not impacted by MKR with The Checkout second in its timeslot.

Seven network won with 33.5% then Nine 25.1%, ABC 17.8%, TEN 17.5% and SBS 6.1%.

My Kitchen Rules was #1 with 1.36m for Seven then Seven News (1.03m / 945,000), Home and Away (750,000), The Chase (615,000 / 419,000) and movie: Captain America (348,000).

Nine News (996,000 / 916,000) was best for Nine followed by A Current Affair (823,000), RBT (605,000), Hot Seat (589,000), The Footy Show (385,0000 in 3 cities). Movie: Gravity was 143,000 in 2 cities.

ABC News (774,000) led for ABC followed by The Checkout (679,000), 7:30 (642,000), Janet King (595,000), Antiques Roadshow (313,000) and Utopia (268,000).

The Project (561,000 / 460,000) topped TEN’s night. Gogglebox was 534,000, TEN Eyewitness News was 528,000, Law and Order: SVU was 393,000 and Modern Family was 393,000 / 330,000.

On SBS it was Inside Heston’s World (199,000), Destination Flavour: Scandinavia (176,000), Gourmet Farmer (162,000) and SBS World News (149,000). The Last Panthers was just 61,000.

ABC2’s Go Jetters (281,000) was first on multichannels.

  1. Gogglebox….I like it and all the contibutors, however it feels like they are all self aware and a little too careful to avoid saying anything too controversial or too anti ch10. I know ch10 partially fund the show, but it sometimes lacks a bit of authenticity. Either that or the editing….

    1. They have trashed TEN shows before, and to their credit it has aired. I presume it depends show by show. I do agree they are increasingly self-aware. There’s a lot of self-substituting or even acting out (ie. pottery re-enactment). Still enjoyable though.
