Rebecca Maddern to debut on The Footy Show

Former Seven presenter Rebecca Maddern makes her debut on the AFL Footy Show tonight.

Described as “The Footy Show’s first lady” she joins co-host James Brayshaw in what will surely become a talking point and attract a ratings lift.

Doubtless, she will be under added pressure to demonstrate her knowledge. Bring it on.

Superstar Collingwood forward Travis Cloke heads up the panel as he responds to criticism of his form, and joining him is St Kilda veteran Leigh Montagna.

Dual Brownlow Medallist Gary Ablett chats to the team about the Suns’ undefeated start to the season following a very mediocre 2015, as do Jake Stringer and Easton Wood from the Western Bulldogs.

Join in for the laughs when Sam Newman stops by the Quambatook Tractor Pulling Festival for his first Street Talk: Invitation Only for 2016 – and he will also be back behind the lectern delivering another controversial Rant.

Billy Brownless shows some cracking play in Almost Footy Legends where a punter can win a $50,000 prize, and the contentious Footy Show Stakes is in full swing again.

8.30pm tonight on Nine (Melb / Ade / Per).

  1. It will be interesting to see the ratings for the footy show tomorrow. I suspect more will tune in just to have a look. Bec will be great on the show.

Unfortunately and she has said this on radio today that she knows she will get some backlash on social media with how she goes and even what she will wear.

  2. Queensland viewers can see The AFL Footy Show at 10.10 pm according to my digital program guide.
WIN HD for regional viewers and 9HD in the City.
Looking forward to Rebecca’s contribution. We already miss her on “Sunrise” where she was a bright, competent reporter.

      • Bec started at Triple M in Melb working on a show John hosted, so its not like they are strangers to each other.
What will be interesting is whether Bec will play along with the usual LCD repetitive BS that has made The Footy Show unwatchable or whether she’ll actually bring an insight into and knowledge of Aussie Rules to the show. She certainly has it, here’s hoping it gets a chance to shine.
