Origin gives Nine solid win

Ratings: Origin tops the year a TV's biggest audience -and Sunrise finally claims a week over Today.

Nine has claimed its second outright ratings win for the year.

State of Origin drew a massive 2.61m viewers- the game’s biggest ever audience- cementing it as the #1 title so far this year. With a whopping 45.0% share it was a lead too big for Seven to catch.

But the news was not all bad for Seven with Sunrise (320,000) finally claiming a win over Today (316,000).

Meanwhile MasterChef still leads the charge for TEN.

Nine easily won the demos 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54.

Nine: State of Origin (2.61m), The Voice (1.3m), Nine News (Sun: 1.24m), A Current Affair (857,000).

Seven: Seven News (1.42m), House Rules (1.24m), Home and Away (761,000) and The Chase (725,000).

TEN: MasterChef Australia (Tues: 1.11m), Have You Been Paying Attention? (709,000), NCIS (706,000) and The Project (7pm: 653,000)

ABC: ABC News (Sat: 853,000), Father Brown (756,000), Midsomer Murders (674,000) and 7:30 (639,000).

SBS: Great Continental Railway Journeys (320,000), Michael Mosley: Trust Me I’m a Doctor (311,000), DNA Nation (307,000) and Rome’s Invisible City (304,000).

Nine scored on Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Seven took out Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. ABC bettered TEN on Saturday.

Nine won in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Seven ranked first in Adelaide and Perth.
