RocKwiz: June 4

Tomorrow night on RocKwiz, Montaigne, Dan Kelly and his cousins Memphis and Maddy Kelly plus Henry Wagons salute the Legends of Ireland.

RocKwiz Salutes the Legends of Ireland is a show overflowing with Irish music, traditions and tales tall and true. Three of the four contestants drawn from the enthusiastic Esplanade audience are Irish and there are sing-alongs, emotional memories, even a spot of River Dancing. Triple J Unearthed finalist Montaigne performs ‘I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For’, Dan Kelly and his cousins Memphis and Maddy Kelly reinterpret ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’, and Henry Wagons bursts out from behind the faux velvet drapes to salute Thin Lizzy and the late, great Phil Lynott. After all the riffs and questions, the cast come together and close the show with the very appropriate ‘Irish Heartbeat’, as recorded by Van Morrison and The Chieftains.
