Saturday Disney hosts Candice Dixon, Teigan Nash and Nathan Morgan yesterday farewelled the long-running children’s show on Seven / 7TWO.

The show ended a 26 year run on Saturday mornings.

“We will be celebrating all of the amazing years we have had on Saturday Disney by heading down memory lane on a road trip. We will be reliving all the good times we’ve had, the amazing people we’ve met and incredible places we’ve been,” the hosts announced before the final show aired.

“And along our journey we will be catching up with a heap of friends from the show – you will have to tune in to spot all the familiar faces and one very famous guest too!”

Over two and a half decades Saturday Disney has been a springboard for the careers of Shelley Craft, James Sherry, Sofie Formica, Jack Yabsley, Mel Symons and Sara Groen. Shae Brewster was the longest-serving host, just short of eleven years.

But Seven confirmed a change in direction under a new Executive Producer in charge of children’s programming. Following on from its recent Beat Bugs, Seven with plans to announce a new local title soon.

“And from all of us in the Disney House, we want to thank you for waking up with us on Saturday mornings and for joining us on our wonderful Saturday Disney journey,” Dixon, Nash and Morgan said yesterday.

“We will miss you guys!”

  1. I remember watching Winnie the Pooh on it when I was younger along with other Disney shows.

It was a good block, but I wonder what will end up replacing it.

  2. Yesterday morning was the era of an era. ): No morning getting up early on Saturday’s for cartoons presented by 2 girls and a guy in the Disney House. Well done to all who had their letters read out. I especially liked Double Dog Dare and Minute Madness. The switch over to 7Two and 7Flix was probably the beginning of the end. TV Extra brings back memories.
