No more Kath and Kim anytime soon
No secret backroom talks for more of the Fountain Lakes ladies, says Glenn Robbins.

Fans hoping for more Kath and Kim are out of luck for the time being, according to ‘Kel Knight’ himself, Glenn Robbins.
“I know the girls have full lives. If there was any inkling of an idea they’d ring me pretty early on,” he recently told TV Tonight.
“In the longer term, who knows, but in the shorter term, no.”
The much-loved characters last made a major screen appearance in 2012’s feature Kath & Kimderella.
Robbins, currently appearing in Upper Middle Bogan, says he see the girls about once a year, such as at an opening nights.
“If they were to come ringing I’d be more than happy to talk about it, but I’m sure they are asking the question ‘Have we told all the stories we can tell?’” he suggested.
As to chatter about a stage version of the show, he noted, “There were rumblings of that, but there are no secret backroom talks that I know of.”
But Robbins, who first appeared as Fountain Lakes’ metrosexual butcher in 2002, has nothing but praise for Jane Turner, Gina Riley and Magda Szubanski.
“It doesn’t get any better than that. I’ll stand in the hallway of that house, as Kel, just listening to those girls firing on all cylinders. And deep down inside I’m thinking ‘What a joy this is.’ ‘
“I don’t need to do anything, I just let it play. They are sublime on every level.”

Yeah I think its probably had its day. The movies were truly awful – the same old tired jokes over and over. I could see the appeal in a limited run stage show (say, 4 weeks in each of the 5 capital cities at a medium size theatre) but that would most likely be a once-off. I still think the TV series is as funny and clever as it ever was (particularly season one).
That’s probably a good thing in reality. Kath & Kimderella was almost unwatchable, but the TV series was always fun. Might be best to leave K&K in the past.
Glenn Robbins seems like one of the nicest guys in the business.
