ABC and TEN shows have fared prominently on Twitter in 2016 according to trends released today.

Q&A tops the year in TV show tweets -a fine acknowledgement for the its social media pioneer Leslie Nassar, who passed away in October.

It was followed by Four Corners, no doubt much of it driven by the story on Don Dale Detention Centre (but there were other big yarns too).

Game of Thrones follows at #3 and The Project at #4.

My Kitchen Rules is also there representing Seven.

It’s also worth noting that other brands made it into the top Entertainment tweets: Oscars, Eurovision, Grammys, Netflix with ARIAs, Eurovision and VMAs also tops in Music.

The top 10 biggest hashtags saw #Rio206 at 3, #Q&A at 4 and #ARIAs at 7.

Iggy Azalea is apparently the fifth most followed Australian on Twitter at 7.14m followers with Shane Warne at 10 with 2.84m.
