Cast members from the iconic Buffy the Vampire Slayer have reunited to mark the show’s 20th Anniversary.
They gathered for a photo for Entertainment Weekly, including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Seth Green, Alyson Hannigan, David Boreanaz and more.
Anthony Stewart Head, AKA librarian Giles, was absent due to a play in London.
“It’s the ultimate metaphor: horrors of adolescence manifesting through these actual monsters. It’s the hardest time of life,” Gellar said of the show’s enduring popularity.
“I’m so incredibly proud of what we all created. Sometimes you need distance to really understand the gravitas of that. I appreciate everything about that job. As an actor, all you ever want to do is leave your mark – you want to do something that affects people.”
“This is surreal,” said creator Joss Whedon. “For the most part, this is like a high school reunion but much worse because they all still look really great. I was hoping some of them would puff out a bit. But that did not take place.”

Hopefully someday the entire series will be released on blu-ray.
Great show and it had impact later on in films with the Super Hero having vulnerabilities and yes in Marvel’s case that is likely thanks to Joss Whedon. Though the 2002 Spider-Man film by by Sam Raimi touched on those vulnerabilities and it was it is a good film, same goes for Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins.
Grimm also owes a lot to Buffy and with David Greenwalt being a producer on both it’s little wonder, however still if not for Buffy changing things Grimm may not have seen the light of day. Of course comics have played with it’s hero’s being vulnerable long before that, it just took Hollywood awhile too see it. Yes there was the likes of Darren McGavin’s Kolchak: The Night Stalker that likely had some impact on Grimm (as it did on the X-Files), however that is more a monster of the week thing.
Yep Buffy had a big impact and she would have had a better time at High…
Thankfully. the Buffy reboot project mooted a few years ago never eventuated-the Buffy/Angel series are near perfection when taken together as a whole.
Its cool to see this pic and the overall reunion. that was a great show back in the day aired on the Seven Network late Monday nights from memory. I hope it appears in reruns on another Channel or Network if its not still with 7.
Some of ‘Angel’ was shown intermittently late night on 10 a few years ago.
Buffy starts on Channel 11 at 8:30pm Monday 12 March 2018. As far as I know it will be shown in its entirety. Im not sure if Angel will be shown alongside it once that spins off from Buffy. Im surprised its being shown in Supernaturals normal slot. Hope this helps.
