BAFTAs to honour Joanna Lumley
British Academy Television Awards will pay tribute to 6 decades of Joanna Lumley.

Joanna Lumley will receive the BAFTA Fellowship, in recognition of her outstanding and exceptional contribution to film, television or games, at this month’s British Academy Television Awards.
Other television Fellows have included David Attenborough, Michael Palin, Ken Loach, Harold Pinter, Maggie Smith, Julie Walters and her Absolutely Fabulous co-star Jennifer Saunders.
Lumley said the award was the “grandest and most unexpected prize I have ever had the joy of receiving.”
“Nothing could make me prouder or happier than being awarded this phenomenal honour,” said Lumley. “To be counted amongst the greatest talents and stars of our industry is an awesome gift.”
Over a six decade career Lumley’s career has included On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, The Wolf of Wall Street, Me Before You, Finding Your Feet, The New Avengers, Sapphire & Steel, The Kenny Everett Television Show, Coronation Street, General Hospital, Class Act, Mad Cow, Jam & Jerusalem and Absolutely Fabulous.
Lumley has been nominated six times for a BAFTA, winning twice in 1993 and 1995.
