No deal on The Inbetweeners reboot

Hallelujah….
The Inbetweeners co-creator Damon Beesley has quashed any suggestions of a reboot, which was recently rumoured in the UK press.
“The Inbetweeners is about those characters, it’s not really a brand,” he said. “It’s the opposite of a brand – it was a small E4 show.
“This whole corporatisation of everything – ‘we can turn that into a brand’ – I can understand it from a business sense, but it’s not at the root of all great art or comedy. If somebody’s going to have a crack at [a reboot], well, good luck to them. Because I don’t think any of us would be involved.”
A US remake in 2012 was similarly panned.
“The audience almost revolted over the idea of the American one,” he said. “They didn’t really give it a chance, just because it wasn’t the original.
“So I can’t imagine that people who like The Inbetweeners will feel any differently if you wrote a new one without any of the original people. Comedy is all about voices. You can’t just go, ‘Oh I know, we’ll do Alan Partridge, but we won’t have Steve Coogan or Armando Iannucci involved!'”

Thank god for that lol.
Although it would be nice to have a new series or another movie with the original cast if they were ever up for it.
From memory the most profitable UK comedy of all time.
