The Late Late Show proceeds with London broadcasts

James Corden will address "… how proud we are to be in a city we all love so much."

The Late Late Show with James Corden is proceeding with London-based broadcasts this week despite London attacks over the weekend.

The London shows will begin tomorrow, just three days after attacks on London Bridge and Borough Market killed 7 and wounded 48 people. Episodes will also coincide with a snap UK election, announced after production plans were put in place.

Corden is re-doing the opening for the broadcasts, a programming change producers Ben Winston and Rob Crabbbe insisted “is no big deal and sounds more impressive in print than it actually is.”

In the new opening, Corden will “address … how proud we are to be in a city we all love so much,” Winston told Deadline. Other than that change, the London shows will go on as planned, celebrating “everything London” and reflecting the “carry on” spirit of Londoners.

Episodes will screen in Australia on ELEVEN from tomorrow.

Wednesday:
Nicole Kidman
Kit Harington
Carpool Karaoke with Ed Sheeran

Thursday:
Tom Cruise
Jennifer Hudson

Friday:

  1. Harry bloody Styles again!?-after a whole week of his bland presence a fortnight or so ago on Corden!? Ugghh…
As to marking yet another terror attack, better get used to it as the pace and relative simplicity of organizing such events shows no sign of ceasing.

  2. Just such a shame Ten treat it poorly, hiding it away at 11.30 or so on Eleven. Whilst he’s no Ferguson (seriously, who is?), he’s quite entertaining.
Id love Ten to put Colbert into Corden at 10pm weeknights (9.30 would be even better).

      1. Yes, well aware. Our system isn’t exactly the same as the US though.
Can’t say I’ve ever understood why Networks have new programming on after midnight. It’s not prime time ratings time. Having Colbert into Corden on Eleven starting at 9.30 or 10pm isn’t that much of a stretch in my opinion.

    1. Don’t mind myself, with it going to air at 12:30am in the US eastern that’s 2:30pm eastern here, so a 9 hour delay isn’t bad (apart from Friday’s show), I just PVR it. Of course once our daylight saving starts and the US one ends in November that becomes 4:30pm eastern here so only a 7 hour delay for that 6 months or so.

Same time as Ferguson was on and same deal with Friday’s being on Monday, be good if we could get it Monday to Friday seeing they’re recorded in batches a head of time anyway. Though of course that would mean we were a day ahead of the US and that wouldn’t fly in case they wanted to record a special opening due to current events. Like Ferguson did a couple of times like when some shootings happened and he had wanted to touch on that it was recorded prior and etc.
