Fresh on the back of his (somewhat-maligned) appearance on Game of Thrones, UK singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran will guest in the upcoming season of The Simpsons.
Sheeran is coming to Springfield as a singer called Brendan, whom Lisa Simpson will have a crush on.
The episode will be a musical one called Haw Haw Land, a spoof of La La Land.
Simpsons executive producer, Al Jean told EW that Lisa “keeps falling for [Brendan] because of his talent” – while bully Nelson is also trying to win over Lisa with his singing.
His appearance will come at some point in the 29th season, which kicks off in the US on October 1. Sheeran is certainly racking up the drama cameos having previously appeared in Home and Away, Shortland Street and Undateable.
Speaking of Game of Thrones, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) will also appear in the 29th season.
“He plays a character not unlike Jaime,” executive producer Matt Selman has teased. “He has a surprising and sexy connection to one of the main characters.”

Another crush Lisa Simpson? How fickle you are, it’s as if you’re perpetually 8 years old.
he probably can’t make it any worse.
