BBC renews 7 Wonder rural series

Seven's British production arm expands its UK rural series.

Seven’s UK production arm 7 Wonder has landed a re-commission from BBC Two for rural series Back to the Land.

The series championing the UK’s most inspirational rural entrepreneurs will expand from 3 to 12 episodes for S2.

Presenter Kate Humble says: “I’m delighted that we are going to be making another series. The stories of people who had taken risks, tried new things, been brave and innovative in order to create ways of making a living that they believed in, inspired and delighted not just the audience, but the whole production team and I! All of us can’t wait to get started again. This might be the beginning of a counter industrial revolution that sees everyone wanting to head Back to the Land!”

Sarah Trigg, Executive Producer at 7 Wonder adds: “We are absolutely thrilled to be making another series of Back to the Land with Kate. At its heart, it’s a stylish factual format, which touches on elements of history, geography and tradition. What we all enjoy about the creative process of making it is witnessing these incredible and aspirational people doing what they love to keep the countryside alive.”
