Two Aussie actors are joining new Hulu titles in the US.
Frances O’Connor (The Missing) has been cast as the lead in Locke & Key, a horror / fantasy drama adaptation of a comic by Joe Hill and artist Gabriel Rodriguez. The pilot comes from Hill, Carlton Cuse and IDW Entertainment.
Locke & Key, written by Hill and to be directed by Andy Muschietti revolves around three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Maine with their mother Nina (O’Connor) only to find the house has magical keys that give them a vast array of powers and abilities. Little do they know, a devious demon also wants the keys, and will stop at nothing to attain them.
Meanwhile Julian McMahon (Nip / Tuck) is joining the cast of Marvel’s Runaways as Jonah. Every teenager thinks their parents are evil. What if you found out they actually were? While his origins and ultimate intentions are unknown, McMahon’s character will be a pivotal player in the Runaways’ rebellion against their parents.
“We’re incredibly excited to add Julian to our exceptional cast and we can’t wait to see what he brings to the world of Marvel’s Runaways,” said Executive Producers and Showrunners Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage.
