AFTRS is reminding anyone considering postgraduate study in screen or broadcast that applications for Graduate Certificates, Masters programs and the Graduate Diploma in Radio are closing on Monday 16 October.

Mr Peplow noted that recent AFTRS Postgraduate alumni success stories include screenwriting graduate James Raue whose feature film, Psychoanalysis, which he directed from the script he wrote while at AFTRS, was selected to screen at multiple international and Australian film festivals, including the New York Independent Film Festival and the Silver Spring International Film Festival.

AFTRS screenwriting graduate Becca Johnstone developed a TV drama pilot while at AFTRS, Bayou, which won the inaugural Australian Writers Guild ‘What Happens Next’ prize, was optioned by Muse Entertainment, along with Cornerstone Pictures, and is currently being packaged with Gersh for the US market. Editing Masters graduate Liz Deegan’s graduating film Emily was nominated for a student Oscar while Stuffed a short film by directing graduate Warwick Young, was awarded Best Foreign Film at the Beverly Hills Film Festival.

Master Of Arts Screen
AFTRS Master of Arts Screen is a hands-on transformative learning experience offered in 10 disciplines. The two year, full-time degree is designed to enable the future creative leaders of the industry and fast-track screen professionals into head of department positions.
Disciplines offered in 2018: Animation, Cinematography, Directing, Documentary, Editing, Music, Producing, Production Design, Screenwriting and Sound. (2 years, full time, applications close 16 Oct)

Master Of Arts Screen: Business & Leadership
A transformational program that provides students with the skills and knowledge to succeed and thrive as leaders in today’s fast-moving screen business environment. The course is practical, high-level, current and collaborative.
2 years, part time, applications close 16 Oct.

Graduate Certificates 
If you’re transitioning from one area of the industry to another, or from another profession into the screen arts or simply looking to add another level of skill to your practice, the Graduate Certificate is for you.  Delivered part-time, on evenings and/or weekends, so you can work full-time while you study.
