Seven unbeatable on Thursday

A My Kitchen Rules & Winter Olympics double was too strong for the competition on Thursday with Seven pulling a massive 42.5% share.

MKR won its slot with 947,000 viewers, a figure that might have arguably been higher given MAFS was nowhere in sight. Nevertheless a win is a win. I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here was also up from the previous night, second in its slot with 581,000.

The Winter Olympics ruled from 9pm with 891,000 but Gogglebox proved strong at 649,000 given the competition.

OzTAM Overnights: Thursday 15 February 2018

  1. It may have come second in the timeslot but Celeb is still doing rather poorly in comparison to last year. Last year, the same episode (Week 3 Thursday) did 910,000. That is a 36% decrease in viewership.

  2. Why do people watch the Winter Olympics? It consists of sports/pastimes that aren’t done here to any level and most people here aren’t exposed to them at school-even many migrants come from countries with no snow! A puzzle indeed.

    • [email protected]

Australia has a lot more snow than plenty of other countries + plenty of Aussies are into skiing at home and abroad. We’re the most successful southern hemisphere country in the Winter Olympics -> this is no ‘Jamaican Bobsled Team’ situation

Plus winter sports are exciting. High energy and high speed. Way better viewing than what FTA TV generally comes up with.

    • I doubt I’d watch much of just the Seven FTA broadcast, but having the ability to select from multiple events via the website has made it pretty easy to find something that takes my interest each night. And I’ve never seen snow in my life!

      • the 7FTA coverage is a mini winter games of only 6-7 sports the rest of the games is irrelevant to them, this is what the comm games will be like 6-7 sports and the rest watch it on a app stupid
