On Monday’s A Current Affair Tracy Grimshaw interviews Peta Butler, who in 2006, was horrifically raped at the age of 16 -orchestrated by her own mother.
Peta Butler’s mother did the unimaginable.
In 2006, Therese Butler took 16-year-old Peta on a “girls weekend” to Toowoomba.
After plying her with alcohol, Therese sent Peta into the bedroom of their cheap motel, where she was forced into having sex with a stranger. Therese sat outside and smoked a cigarette as it happene.
Therese Butler has been sentenced to four years in prison, suspended after 12 months, after pleading guilty to procuring a child for carnal knowledge.
The incredible twist in the story is that Peta recorded her mother’s confession on tape.
In a heart-rending and at times harrowing interview, Tracy Grimshaw speaks to Peta and the police officer who helped hatch the plan to bring her mother down.
7pm Monday on Nine.
