Airdate: CMC Music Awards 2018

The 8th annual CMC Music Awards will screen Live on CMC on Thursday March 15.

The event held at The Star, Gold Coast, is hosted by The McClymonts.

The Awards will feature a stellar line up of performers including Grammy Award winner Darius Rucker who has been announced as a finalist in the CMC International Artist of the Year Award category and hottest young female international country artist Kelsea Ballerini who is a finalist in the two international award categories, CMC International Video of the Year and CMC International Artist of the Year.

Joining them to perform at the Awards are local favourites Travis Collins who is a finalist in four award categories including the CMC Australian Artist of the Year category which he won last year. Amber Lawrence will join Travis on stage to perform a duet from their award winning EP ‘Our Backyard’ for which they are nominated for CMC Group or Duo of the Year. Amber is also a finalist in the CMC Female Artist of The Year. The Wolfe Brothers, also performing are up for CMC Group or Duo of The Year and CMC Australian Artist of the Year awards.

US hottest breaking bands Old Dominion and Brothers Osborne will also perform at the awards.

The McClymonts who are hosting the awards are up for three awards, CMC Australian Video of the Year, CMC Group or Duo of The Year and CMC Australian Artist of the Year.

Lee Kernaghan is proud to take to the stage this year to present the CMC New Artist of the Year category which will be renamed the ‘The Rob Potts Tribute/CMC New Artist of Year’ in honour of Rob Potts who sadly passed away late last year.

Rob Potts, an influential promoter and manager had an award-winning career which spanned over three decades. Alongside CMC and Chugg Entertainment, Potts co-founded CMC Rocks Festival and ran Rob Potts Entertainment Edge which continues to tour some of the world’s biggest country artists. Foxtel and CMC recognises the contribution Rob Potts made to the country music industry and is proud to rename the CMC New Artist Award in his honour.
