Another Maigret telemovie, featuring Rowan Atkinson, will air on Easter Monday on ABC.

Maigret’s Dead Man is second of the fourth in the telemovies, produced by ITV.

French fictional detective Jules Maigret, is based on the novels by Georges Simenon.

In Maigret’s Dead Man, a series of vicious, murderous attacks on three wealthy farms in Picardy hit the national headlines and the elite Brigade Criminelle at the Quay Des Orfevres is called upon to lend its expertise in tracking down the brutal gang responsible for the slaughter. However, Maigret is resolute in investigating the murder of an obscure anonymous Parisian. An investigation that ultimately solves both crimes.

Also stars Ian Puleston-Davies (Marcella, Coronation Street), Aiden McCardle (Mr Selfridge, The Mill), Shaun Dingwall (Silent Witness, Death In Paradise), Lucy Cohu (Broadchurch), Leo Starr (Call The Midwife, Lewis) and Hugh Simon (The Mill, MI-5).

  1. I kept seeing Mr Bean playing a detective in the first episode of season one, but the production is excellent and Rowan Atkinson has developed Maigret’s stoic personality quite well, the transition from performing his usual comical TV roles is plainly a good career move for him.

  2. It’s not the fourth episode as such … it’s the 2nd and final episode of season 1.

    Mind you 4 episodes have been broadcast by ITV in the UK and Foxtel here.

    They are excellent and recommended viewing … IMHO.
