Kris Smith guest hosts The Living Room

Kris Smith presents a travel story about the Nullarbor Plain this week.

Kris Smith takes to The Living Room couch this Friday, with a travel story about the Nullarbor Plain.

Joining Amanda Keller, Miguel Maestre and Grant Denyer, Kris comes to the table with a spectacular travel story, exploring Australia’s vast and imposing stretch of desert: the Nullarbor Plain. Infamous for vexing countless English explorers before him, Kris decides to tackle the Plain via plane, but not before seeing the beauty from ground level, choosing to cruise the desolate highway by car before hitching a ride on a 140 tonne road train.

Grant Denyer seems to have made himself at home on The Living Room couch, so it is only fair that Amanda pays a visit to his real home: a farm on the outskirts of Bathurst that he shares with his wife Chezzi and daughters Scout and Sailor. Amanda meets all of Grant’s loveable companions, from cows to some aptly named chickens and, of course, his prized ’65 Mustang Audrey.

Also exploring the rural side of Australia is Miguel, who visits an organic dairy farm in regional Victoria to learn the secrets of how to make delicious yoghurt, while Cherie Barber stays in the city to provide tips on storage and styling dilemmas in small, inner-city apartments.

Friday, 9 March at 7.30pm on TEN.

  1. As usual The Living Room grabs disinterest from the jaws of a potential audience .
Reading this I don’t have a clue about what I will see about the Nullarbor Plain, which is apparently “famous for vexing countless English explorers” – who the hell talks like that ?
I’m feeling like a Vex and a good lie down already.
Why do I need to learn how to make organic yoghurt when I can buy it readily at my local supermarket? Really think about the audience guys and offer something simple. How about 5 things to make store bought yoghurt the best dessert ever?
This show – like BHG – is under big pressure now Gardening Australia is on the scene to sweep up the hard core gardeners out there.
Get real or get out of the kitchen, and dumb convoluted story lines are a waste of everyone’s time.
