Returning: The Handmaid’s Tale

Season Two begins on SBS in late April.

Season Two of The Handmaid’s Tale will hit SBS on April 26.

It will launch jointly on SBS and SBS On Demand with a double episode premiere, same day as the US.

Praise be. 2018’s most eagerly-awaited series, The Handmaid’s Tale, is back.

The end of the intense season one saw Offred, one of the few remaining fertile women in the oppressive society Gilead (formerly the United States) who is forced into sexual servitude as a ‘Handmaid’, falling pregnant but being ominously dragged off in the back of a van, her future uncertain.

The Emmy and Golden Globe award-winning drama series returns with a second season shaped by Offred’s pregnancy and her ongoing fight to free her future child from the dystopian horrors of Gilead. “Gilead is within you” is a favourite saying of Aunt Lydia.

In Season Two, Offred and all our characters will fight against – or succumb to – this dark truth. With new faces and old foes, Offred continues to play the game of trust.

(Time TBA) Thursday, 26 April on SBS / SBS on Demand.

  1. I can’t be the only person to really struggled to watch this. It’s still on my PVR waiting for me to finish it. I’ve watched it in stints since it was released. I think I got to the end of ep 6 or 7. This might be just the impetus I need to catch up.
