Sandra Sully appointed Managing News Editor of ten daily

TEN presenter joins Lisa Wilkinson for upcoming new online site offering news, video & lifestyle.

Sandra Sully has been appointed Managing News Editor of upcoming website, ten daily.

The announcement follows from Lisa Wilkinson appointed Executive Editor and Ross Dagan as Network Director of News Content.

The role entails editorial direction and management role. She will continue as Sydney presenter of TEN Eyewitness News and contribute to the new website.

“I’ve been passionate about digital media for many years, in particular, the ability to engage people with News content across multiple platforms,” she said.

“My new role at ten daily is a natural extension of that passion. The digital space is an exciting place to be and ten daily will be a strong extension of our News skills and content.”

TEN’s Chief Content Officer, Beverley McGarvey, said: “Sandra is one of the best and most admired television news presenters and reporters in Australia, and I am delighted that she is joining the team at ten daily.

“Sandra was an early adopter in using digital and social media to build on traditional News coverage and create deeper engagement between Ten News and our viewers.

“News will be an important part of ten daily and I cannot think of anyone more qualified to take on this important and exciting new role,” she said.

Ten daily will launch later this year with short-form video content, news, entertainment, lifestyle, opinion and sport.

More editorial appointments will be announced soon.

  1. One would assume Hamish MacDonald would have a key role in TenDaily?

They seem to have quietly enticed him back after he left a few years ago to join ABC in the US as an international affairs correspondent

  2. TEN really need to lift their game regarding news coverage, it’s appalling! They should of never gone back to the eye witness format, nothing eye witness about it.

    1. I don’t see how the name of a news brand affects the content but i am happy to be corrected.
You are right, however, in saying that they do need to focus on it.
I’m on the edge of my seat waiting to hear more of the plans they keep teasing.

    2. I think their ‘Eyewitness’ is a Meakin obsession, now that he’s back at TEN, having introduced it when he started with TEN when they first went on air (in Sydney). But agree, tags on news just demeans it. Someone in Adelaide once had “Action News”, which was of course a ripoff from some US stations.
