It was a low key farewell for TEN sports presenter Brad McEwan last night in his final TEN bulletin and last ever Play of the Day.

“Well after 20 years at Channel TEN it is with great sadness that we farewell Brad McEwan,” said Steve Quartermain.

“Brad has decided to do something different. We will miss him a lot. He truly is one of TV’s great gentleman. Thank you Brad it has been our pleasure to work with you, my friend.”

“Good on you Q,” McEwan said shaking his had. ” Thanks very much. It’s been a joy. Terrific. Thank you.”

Best wishes!

  1. In all fairness he announced awhile back he was leaving because he wants to travel and work in the corporate world. Im sure they did do something for him. But who is replacing him?

  2. Certainly a low key departure compared to when he left Ten News Sydney in 2013 to head to Melbourne. Sandra Sully gave about a 2 min speech following a speel from Tim Bailey.

It’s a shame the late night Sandra and Brad show was cut short prematurely. They were quite the dynamic duo.

  3. Very low key indeed for someone who has been with the network for twenty years. Surely a highlights clip could have been put together especially considering the moments with him and Sandra sully on the late news. Strange considering Jessica Rowe gets 2 hours of highlights for only 5 years work

Certainly a nice guy who deserved better

And if you were a sports producer or presenter, why would you want to hang around ten after their ordinary effort for the cricket broadcast rights. They have no major sport any more and are locked out any major sports rights for the next 4-5 years. And cbs was supposed to be the new dawn for network ten. Very disappointing so far!!!
