If it’s Saturday it must be recycling night

So many repeats, so little time...

I guess if you missed any TEN shows this week you have a chance to catch up with several of them tonight.

I don’t remember the last time I saw so many repeats in primetime on one channel. But it is non-ratings and the Commonwealth Games are on… hopefully this is a one-off.

6pm David Attenborough’s Natural Curiosities rpt
6:30pm Bondi Rescue dbl rpt
7:30pm NCIS rpt

TEN will premiere UK factual Ambulance on Saturday April 21.

Nine is also slugging us with repeats tonight.

  1. I remember awhile ago TEN tried new episodes on Saturday night of Scorpion, Hawaii Five-0 and Macgyver but they were suddenly taken off due to low ratings.

  2. Even a 1973 series on ABC beat anything on TEN. L&O:SVU was a repeat, but a repeat from last Monday. Everything else was a multi-repeat, having been on during the week multiple times across TEN and their other channels. At least SBS Viceland had Wall Street, which was watchable, even by my 20-somethings.
Nine with a first run movie at 11:20. Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, 7.2 on IMDb, but terrible storyline and language (still, nothing ABC hasn’t aired at 9pm). As Bruce Springsteen sang, “57 Channels (And Nothin’ On)”.

  3. Numbers are in, TEN sank to 4.2% for primary channel. This isn’t me sinking the boot, just archiving that networks forgo the numbers to try and capture new viewers for current shows -so if there is an upside it won’t come until later when new episodes air. As noted, Comm Games must be taken into context.

    1. and thats exactly what they deserve with their lazy programming. As i’ve commented before, i personally think it might just backfire on them by showing so many ‘encore’s’ because it gets too confusing trying to follow which time slot is the premiere & which the repeat. Plus there’s the overexposure factor too that could put people off watching a show at all.

  4. Friday night too after the living room, also apart from the repeats on Sat on TEN, theres repeats on Eleven at the same time of missed shows (some of which are also repeated on TEN that night too)

  5. There are so many alternatives (and not just Foxtel) these days that it doesn’t bother me. Too many channels and not enough (watchable) new content is the problem with FTA as I see it.

    1. Agree, with the increasing popularity of streaming the number of quality shows being released is becoming more than is possible to watch if you allow yourself four or five viewing hours a day. Repeats on FTA is hardly going to be noticed by knowledgeable tech savvy viewers.

  6. Love to know if an encore of a show actually equates to a new viewer of The show. In other words if l missed the original airing would l watch the encore and get hooked to watch it again?? Personally l think it’s lazy programming.

    1. Agree! So, very lazy. plus, I always thought an “encore” was when an artist comes back out on stage and gives you more [ie: another song etc] they don’t simply “repeat” their performance… lazy TV programmers take note.

BTW: TEN on a 4.2% share… ouch. *shouts through megaphone* “Encores! Are not working for you!”

  7. 1 repeat/encore of a show is good for people who missed the first airing but some of these are getting 2 or even 3 repeats! Some of us are not into watching sports so are left with slim pickings, this run of tv over the last week has been absolutely woeful. Ok so there’s Netflix/dvd’s to watch but sometimes i just want to watch an hour or so show without thinking too much about coming up with what to watch.

  8. Wow that’s a lot of repeats for Ten don’t really understand their logic there but I’ve given up trying to understand the logic of any of the channels here.

It actually works in my favour though as I was away & daylight savings ending didn’t agree with the recordings I’d set so I missed the second episode of NCIS last Sunday & that’s the one they’re repeating. So in that case thanks for pointing out the repeats David

  9. No wonder TEN is way behind in ratings. They also repeat Friday nights after “The Living Room” is over.
Gee TEN why don’t you put movies on instead of recycle tv shows that have been shown early in the week ?
